News ArchiveAnnouncing APO IMPACT Live! Officer Transitions Webinar!Posted on April 2, 2008 by Derek Cashman. Chapters often have outstanding, experienced student leaders in their elected leadership positions. Chapters also often have amazing, productive semesters due in large part to the leadership of these students. But what happens next semester when new officers are elected? An exciting new opportunity is now available to assist you with that! And it's available as an internet "webinar", so you don't even have to leave your dorm room! This APO IMPACT Live session will focus on three areas: why it is important for chapters to develop and carry out a formal officer transition program, the components that are necessary for an effective program, and the role that advisors and staff can play in this program. The webinar will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from 9-10 PM EDT. You need a PC (Windows 2000 or newer) or a Mac (OS X, 10.3.9, Panther) to participate. Register here; space is limited. Region X now has an official website!Posted on March 14, 2007 by Derek Cashman. Welcome to Region X's official website! This website is for all the latest news and information in the region! We're still adding tons of resources to this site every day, so stay tuned! We hope that this site will become a useful resources to the chapters and alumni of Region X. Along with the website, we also introduce the official new Region X Logo! The logo is displayed in the upper left hand corner of the site, and was designed by Paul De Leon of Gamma Beta Chapter at San Jose State University! Paul pledged in the Fall of 2005 with the Gerald A. Schroeder Pledge Class, and currently serves his chapter as one of its Public Relations Chairs. Like many of Alpha Phi Omega's logos, the Region X Logo is rich in symbolism. The Region Ten Text highlights the letters "I" and "O" to represent the numerical number "10." The four lines underlining the text is symbolic to the three sections in Region X (Sections 1, 2, 4, and 13). The "X" is used in the background to symbolize the roman numeral "10." The circle in the far background represents the fellowship circle of Alpha Phi Omega. The three circles containing the greek letters of Alpha Phi Omega represents the three principles: Leadership, Friendship, and Service. The colors of blue and gold is symbolic to the fraternity's colors. The white color adds contrast to the design to allow the blue and gold colors to stand out in pride.
